Not a lot is new this week. My coworkers said on Wednesday that they think I grew overnight. I think they might be right as I had thought the same thing when I woke up that day and then my Mom said the same thing that evening. We got quite a ways on the nursery again during the week and Kevin and I are putting the final coats on right now. Then we will be finished painting already! I can't wait to get the cribs in there with the bedding and see how it all comes together. I will be sure to post a picture or two once its done.
One cool thing that happened this week is that I felt one of the girls hiccup. I had just read in one of my books that they would start to hiccup soon, and then the next day I felt them! It felt like a very small kick but with the consistancy of a heartbeat. I then felt them two other times this week--all three times it was Baby B I think. She must be growing! :)
Next week is going to be a busy week! I think we have something every night. I also have a doctor appointment on Tuesday. I have to take the gestational diabetes test by drinking the glucola stuff and then I have to get a shot called RhoGAM-becuase of my blood type. Hopefully we also get to take a quick peek at the girls. This appointment will take the place of my Centering group that I am missing next Friday due to the WEDDING!! Throw in a conference for work, volleyball practice, baby class, a haircut, and who knows what else before we leave for Watertown on Thursday, its gonna be a crazy but exciting week.
This week the babies are the size of an English Hothouse Cucumber. Not sure what that is exactly so the picture that I took this week is with a regular cucumber.
Have a great weekend!

Week 25!
This week the babies are the weight of a rutabaga or the length of an eggplant. Unfortunately, I could not find rutabaga at the store, and call me Dutch, but did not think it would be economical to pay almost $2.00 per pound on each eggplant that I was not going to use once the picture was taken. So there is just a belly shot this week. And if you are thinking that every week it looks a lot bigger than the week before, you are right. :) When I was at my last appointment a couple of weeks ago, which would have been just after 23 weeks, I was measuring at 30 weeks. So at that rate, I am guessing this week my size would be comparable to how I would look if I was having one baby at 32 weeks. Crazy! What also boggles my mind is that in 10 weeks (hopefully not before) we will be really close to meeting our girls. These past 25 weeks have flown by so I know these next 10 will too. Here is a little info on what is happening this week with each of the girls:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Earlier this week the crib bedding that I ordered arrived. I absolutely love it! That also means I could pick out paint. A big THANK YOU to my Mom and Heather for coming over and getting started with the painting. Thank you Joni for stopping by too!! I will post pictures once we are done painting and have the cribs setup...it's going to be pretty cute!
Other than that, not a lot is new with us. Kevin continues to coach JO volleyball and his team did really well in their tournament today. They made it to the gold bracket but lost in the championship game.
We are getting excited for Reid and Lauren's wedding which is two weeks from today! We are also excited for Kristen and Dan who are expecting their baby any day now. Praying everything goes well with both of these exciting events!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter weekend everyone! My boss gave us Good Friday off and Kevin has several days off from school, so we are hoping to get a lot accomplished around the house this weekend. Last night we even got to go on a little date to the movie The Hunger Games. I love long weekends!
Anyways, I will start my update with where I left off last week. Last week Friday I had my Centering class. As soon as we get there we record our weight and the nurse takes our blood pressure and pulse. After that we each have individual time with Dr. McKay. This time after I recorded my blood pressure, the nurse pointed out how high my pulse was. It was at 123--which is really high. She asked if I had breakfast (yes) or if I had just been laughing (no). She said to mention it to the doctor when I had my time with her. Dr. McKay rechecked my pulse two other times during that morning and it was still at 110 both times so she ordered some blood work. Turns out my thyroid is a bit out of whack causing my heart to race. Its likely caused from the pregnancy but still something to watch and get under control. I am now taking some medication for this and will get it rechecked next time I go in.
Last weekend Kevin had a coaching clinic in Minneapolis so I decided to go with my parents to visit my Aunt Lori in Nebraska. We had a great time shopping! I found a few more clothes for myself and of course brought home a bunch of items for the girls that she had been collecting.
On Tuesday we had an appointment for our 24 week ultrasound. Since we know the girls have been much more active and can feel them all the time, it was fun to see how they are positioned and see them move. All four of their feet are in the same spot--which is where I feel a majority of their kicks and movements. We found out that the girls are each 1 pound 6 oz. It's wonderful that they are growing so consistantly, although definately hard to believe that there is already 3 pounds of baby in my stomach! This week they are the size of a grapefruit:
Tonight we plan on going to the Good Friday Service at church and maybe hang out with some friends afterwards. Sunday we will head to Rock Rapids to go to church with my family and then we are having Easter lunch with the Vander Veen side. We wish everyone a happy weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
